Ghanafication | In4mashun Tekmologi en teh Peace Corpz

I recently obtained a new microphone to use for my language project. I had it sent to one of the new incoming Peace Corps trainees (thanks, Kate Stalter!) who brought it with them to Ghana from the U.S. I’m stoked! For you audio nerds: It’s an Audio-Technica ATR2100-USB Cardioid Dynamic USB/XLR Microphone. Yes, yes, it kicks ass. I can’t wait to start recording more languages with it, I predict this thing will save me about a week of tedious editing per language because the sound it gets right off the bat is so good. But just to have some fun with it, I recorded a few voices on my guitar this past Sunday and threw ‘em together in Audacity. So, I wanted to share with you all what I did.

(Don’t ask me to play this again, by the way. It was entirely improvised. Oh, and “nkwasiasem” means “bullshit” in Twi.)
